I was raised in Dunellen, NJ and graduated from Dunellen High School. I have bachelors degrees (BA in mathematics and BS in chemistry) from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. I earned my PhD from the department of chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania in the lab of Hai-Lung Dai. Afterwards, I was an NIH NRSA postdoctoral fellow in the radiology department of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (working with Felix Wehrli). My work has been featured in the popular press (e.g., C&E News, Science News) and has appeared on the cover of various academic journals (see the Covers section for representative examples). Additionally, thanks to successful collaborations with Thomas J. Osler (Department of Mathematics, Rowan University) and Felix Wehrli (Department of Radiology, UPenn), I currently have an Erdos number of 5 -- and am always on the lookout for another collaboration to reduce that number further!
